Windows Media Center: Netflix Alternative (updated)

Many of us still use Media Center as their main entertainment system, but Microsoft seems to disagree. Not only they announced EoL for Media Center, but it feels as if they added salt to the wound by disabling the Netflix plugin back in September. Granted, Netflix is moving away from Silverlight and merging everything to HTML5 for good reasons, but the software giant decided that is too much trouble to give us a modern implementation.

This is when Marc Davis decided to give the world a proper replacement. Even though is a work in progress and there’s no early releases yet, he thinks that by sometime this month he’ll have it ready. Marc is no stranger to this, he has a native MC app for the Amazon instant video service available for everyone. Have a look at his page for the progress of his Netflix plugin too, I know you can’t wait to see what he has to say about his progress.
